Shiatsu-Type Massages

I invite you on a journey through yourself, to yourself! A timeless moment to settle down on my futon. Shiatsu is a type of massage of Japanese origin, performed on a futon on the floor, over clothing. It is an energetic type of massage, based on Chinese medicine, involving what are called tsubos, or points (like acupuncture points) that form pathways in the body, also called meridians.
Shiatsu is characterized by pressure applied with the fingers, thumbs, palms, elbows, knees, or feet. The pressures are adapted to the person's needs and complemented by stretches and rotations. I am told that my massages are nurturing, enveloping, very relaxing and deep, while also being very gentle. Many say that my hands are "magical"! I love seeing that dazed look after a shiatsu, where the person wonders what just happened to them!

A shiatsu with me is much more than just a massage. It is a warm and caring support for anyone wishing to take time for themselves, to feel better in their body and mind, and in some cases, to heal from a painful past. My practice aims to be caring, inclusive, and respectful. I specialize particularly in new parents (especially new mothers), retired individuals, and those who have experienced trauma.

Dès le 1er janvier 2025 j'aurai un bureau au sein de l'équipe Optima chiropratique au 160 Rue de l'Évêché O Bureau 101A-1, Rimouski, QC G5L 4H9. Le bureau est aussi au rez=de-chaussée, accessible en chaise roulante et en poussette. Plusieurs stationnements disponibles à l'arrière et dans la rue.
About me
Personally, I welcome and massage individuals in their entirety, with all their uniqueness and beauty. Shiatsu aims to balance a person's vital energy with their physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects. Even for me, the one giving the massage, I always come away feeling calmer, more energized, and more focused. Shiatsu is a powerful tool!

I am not just a massage therapist. I pursued this last degree to have the chance and privilege of caring for people with a gift I had hidden until now. Yes, I sincerely believe I have a gift with my hands. I used it for 10 years to learn the piano, but also used since my childhood to massage my loved ones; friends, loves, and now my children! For me, touch is precious; it allows you to feel and give, to relieve suffering. When I touch a person, it is always in harmony with them, present in the moment. It’s beautiful!

In addition to my massage therapist diploma, I obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in gerontology from the University of Sherbrooke. I have always been interested in human beings and their development! I initially planned to have an academic career, conducting research and teaching.
But while pursuing a Ph.D. in gerontology, I had the privilege of giving birth to a little boy who would change my life. At that moment, I decided to give up my Ph.D. to specialize in breastfeeding and perinatal care. I went back to school and gained about 2000 hours of clinical experience to become an IBCLC lactation consultant. Since 2019, I have been running my own breastfeeding business, providing consultations and training in breastfeeding.

With all this advanced training, you can understand that I have acquired extensive knowledge about human beings, from conception to death. No matter who you are, I will understand and support you with great gentleness and warmth. Welcome to all!
